Okay, two things. One, I don't think we've christened my apartment - Barry's and my apartment? - with a proper movie marathon, so we should get on that stat.

Second, um... you've been here a while, so when you've got a moment, I wanted your opinion on the "Justice League."

[ By now, Iris knows Barry and Cisco have been roped in, but the idea of a superpowered team is still hard to wrap her head around, and well? If Cisco's been here a while, he knows more than her. ]

Say no more, I'm in. Do we have to cater to Barry's taste in movies? I don't know if I'm in the mood for a musicals marathon.

[ As for the Justice League, he's not so sure how much he should say. ]

Are you writing an article on the League? Or is this just a casual interest?

Me either, so why don't we compromise? Stick to action-adventure stuff, and see if he'll swing for something goofy like Sky High.

[ That's gotta exist in this world, right? Even if everything else is just a little bit off?? ]

It's more personal. I haven't heard much about them, outside of how much the Flash means to the team, so... [ she deflates a little. ] There's only so much I can find if I check the network.

Oh, man, Sky High. You know I've always thought that the plant girl looked like a young Caitlin...

[ Cisco takes a deep breath. He trusts Iris, of course, implicitly, but he knows he can't tell her too many details or Batman will come after him. ]

I mean, the League is still finding its footing, here, but from what I've heard on other Earths, they're the real deal. Been around for decades, with all sorts of members. There's an Earth out there where my doppelganger is a member, I saw a picture of him. Very retro costume, total 90's spandex aesthetic. ...Anyway. Batman reached out to Barry because on his Earth, the Flash was a founding member. Then Barry recommended me for the team, so that's how I got involved. I know he tried to put in a good word for you too, but Batman shot it down. I get the feeling the League is more capes-only, and less support, like we are back home.

[ There's a very long pause, not just at the Caitlin reference (because wow she's never gonna see that film the same way twice) but also at what she's been told about the League. So Batman was the one who reached out, and in turn, the one who dismissed her.

Whoever this guy is, he must know what he's doing. ]

That's what I figured, if it was all hush-hush. [ Note to future Iris: articles may earn this guy's wrath. Keep research on the DL. ] But if you believe they're the real deal - and I mean, the other Mick Rory certainly does - then I'm going to believe it too.

[ Because at the end of the day, that's her primary concern. She knows the risks involved in heroism, and she's seen those risks first-hand every day. She just... also worries more than she should. ]

But hey, I mean, as far as I'm concerned Team Flash is still top priority, and you are a solid member of that, so...

[ So don't feel left out? Is kind of his point? ]

[ she sighs, ] Cisco. I'm not upset that I wasn't chosen. I was just worried about the possibility that Batman may not be who he says he is - and that the League may not be either.

[ Iris wouldn't call herself paranoid after Zoom's grand reveal, just... cautious. Wanting to make sure her boys don't make the same mistake, time after time. ]

That's why I asked you. Trust me, I know we'll always be a team.

[ Cisco's relieved. Of course Iris didn't feel threatened. Iris is a badass. Her importance was never in question. ]

No, I get it. As for Batman... He's a little paranoid, I'll admit, but he comes highly recommended. He knows his shit. But...

I'll keep my eye on him. [ He's been burned too many times to trust that easily. First Eobard, then Zoom. If there's a chance Batman isn't as heroic as he claims to be, Cisco has to be on watch. ]

Thanks. That's all I can really ask, and for all I know, I could be completely wrong.

[ Third time's the charm, right? Maybe this guy is legit, and so is the League, and they're worrying over nothing. Better than the alternative. ]

If that's the case? Then we can celebrate with extra ice cream.

And if you're not wrong, we'll commiserate with ice cream and brownies. Either way, it's a win-win.

Exactly. [ she laughs, ] Let's just hope it doesn't come down to the latter.
